Joshua Tree National Park

This is a hard core International rock climbing destination with nice campgrounds, good hikes, and spectacular piles of granite boulders. Even though it was crowded the climbers were goods folks and easy to get along with. Pick your campsite with care however as some of the local are obnoxious and use the park for their personal party grounds. Also, there is no drinking water supplied in the park except at the Cottonwood visitor center. Ya gotta bring your own. If you only have a short time take the Hidden Valley trail hike. It is a real gem. You could spend a lot time here hiking but a good portion of the best features can be seen in about three days.
